====== iLastik Mini Workshop ====== **Title**: Teach your computer to do image analysis for you **Date** Tuesday, 15/07/2014 **Schedule** * 9:00 - 10:00: Talk/demonstration of ilastik 1.0 workflows * 10:00 - 10.30: Coffee break * 10.30 - 12:00: Practical session -- Get ilastik run on your own data **Instructors** ilastik team * Stuart Berg * Burcin Erocal * Carsten Haubold * Anna Kreshuk * Martin Schiegg * Chong Zhang **Organizers** * Volker Hilsenstein * Christian Tischer * Kota Miura **Abstract**: Driven by an array of new technologies (including high-throughput and high-content approaches in screening, sequencing and imaging), the life sciences are becoming increasingly quantitative. The demand for analysis of complex data sets has boosted the developments and advances of dedicated software tools to process and analyze such data quantitatively using computers. For this, the ilastik team is organizing a demo session which aims at introducing some insights to their open source software tool ilastik in tackling biological questions. ilastik is an interactive tool using machine learning algorithms which is easy to use and freely available on http://www.ilastik.org/sfn. It is recommended to download and install the software on your own laptop in advance and bring the laptop (64bit!) to the workshop together with your own example data (file sizes < 100 MB). The practical session is a good opportunity to see what the segmentation algorithms, counting, or tracking algorithms in ilastik can achieve on your own data, with few clicks only. ====== Registration ====== {{url>https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1-_bD-JP4dBtb5hAT3dc8rgPl_eVFn3oM_4Z2b1pdNdE/viewform?embedded=true 98%,1000px noborder}}
